Men Moving Forward©

A grief support program for men after loss, built around shared activities, thoughtful conversation, and time with people who understand. Take part at your own pace.

A Different Kind Of Grief Support

Men Moving Forward brings men dealing with grief together through hands-on projects, easy-paced walks, service, book discussions, and relaxed conversation. Conversation is welcome, but it is never forced. Support can begin naturally while doing something together or simply spending time with others who understand loss.

BUILD

Hands-on projects with a purpose. Make something useful, learn a skill, and take home or give away what you create.

WALK

Easy-paced walks and coffee. A low-pressure way to get outside and spend time with other men who understand loss.

CARE

Simple service projects that turn care into action and create connections through helping someone else.

You Won’t Be Asked to Tell Your Story

There is no pressure to speak, share personal details, or explain how you are feeling. You can participate in the activity, listen, talk about everyday things, talk about your loss, or simply be present. You decide what feels right.

Who It’s For
Men who are grieving the death of a spouse, partner, child, family member, or friend, and who may prefer doing something together rather than sitting in a traditional support-group circle. No special skills are required. Come as you are, whether your loss is recent or happened years ago.

What a Gathering Looks Like
We begin with a brief welcome and an overview of the activity. Most of the time is spent walking, building, or serving together. Guidance and support is available to the group and individually as the need arises. We close simply, with no required sharing. Gatherings are intentionally small, relaxed, no-pressure, and practical.

NEXT GATHERING: OCTOBER BOOK DISCUSSION

It's Okay That You're Not Okay by Megan Devine

Join a small group for a relaxed, thoughtful book discussion that offers a chance to meet with others who understand what it means to lose someone. Join us whether your loss is recent or happened some time ago. There is no pressure to speak. You decide what feels right. The project offers a natural way to be together, shoulder to shoulder rather than face-to-face, and a reminder that what matters can still be carried forward. This group is for men who are grieving a loss.

Next Gathering

Registration is required. Space is limited to 10 men. A brief, private screening call is required before acceptance into the gathering.
